Stephanie Tam

Manager, Quality Assurance and Compliance

Stephanie Tam is the Manager, Quality Assurance and Compliance at Square Care, LLC. At Square Care, Stephanie is responsible for auditing charts to improve Square Care’s efficiency and quality of services and conducting periodic risk assessments.

Prior to joining Square Care, Stephanie was the Program Manager, Care Management Strategies at the Suffolk Care Collaborative Performing Provider System. As a member of the Care Management Organization, Stephanie was overseeing daily workflows and troubleshooting concerns of the Care Management Organization, overseeing all aspects of New Employee Orientation, and creating dashboards and reports to support the Care Management Organization.

Stephanie also held a previous position as a Precertification Specialist at New York Presbyterian-Queens. Through this role, Stephanie gained extensive experience in verification of insurance benefits, coverage, and eligibility, researched denied claims, and investigated revenue shortfalls and generated data sheets with pending insurance charges. Stephanie was also a Medical Assistant in the Women’s Health department in a nonprofit clinic, in which Stephanie gained experience with being the liaison between patients and providers and trained staff on completing a complete patient medical history evaluation.

Stephanie holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Stony Brook University.
